Loughrigg Brow is a Grade II listed building, a magnificent property situated in 10 acres of grounds it was formerly, in Victorian times, the Ambleside vicarage. As can be imagined it is a short stroll away from the Parish Church in the centre of Ambleside. Link to google maps. For position of property type in postcode LA22 9SA. The apartments featured here are 2 of a total of 10 apartments in this very large property. Each apartment is personally cleaned by the owner to a very high standard. Guests have the best of both worlds – the village centre is only a short stroll across the local park and yet the setting is very peaceful with an “away from it all” feel, hard to better in the centre of the National Park. Set this close to Ambleside village and all that it has to offer will mean that you are ideally placed for shopping and eating out without using the car. With walks from the door to Loughrigg Fell and Todd Crag, rambles to Rydal and Grasmere and lake cruises on Lake Windermere situated close by you will really be able to make the most of the lakes at its best. For the seasoned hill walkers there is the opportunity to explore Fairfield Horseshoe from the door of the property- a challenge in any season of the year!
The property is approached through the imposing electronic gates, opposite the footbridge over the River Rothay at Under Loughrigg and via a winding driveway of ¼ mile ascending up to the front door. Individual parking spaces are allocated to each apartment with further guest parking if additional cars need to be accommodated.
Ambleside is a very popular village situated right in the heart of the Lake District National Park at the Northern end of Lake Windermere. It is about ½ hour drive from Junction 36 on the M6 via main roads. It has excellent shopping, including many outdoor clothing and accessory shops and many restaurants and cafes.
